I am taking my 11 year old to see Underdog today. Underdog was one of my favorites when I was a kid. My daughter wants to see it because of the promo they have been running on TV. I will let you all know if it is a true kids movie or a movie trying to rope in the former Underdog TV series generation.
I tried to talk her into seeing Transformers, was dying to see it based on the comments from this forum. The answer I got was "Mom, that's for boys, let's go see the Bratz movie" Now, she said Bratz as a joke, because she knows full well that if Bratz of any kind are banned from this house then the chances of my going to see that movie are nonexistant!
No

Just came back from the movie. My daughter and I loved it. It is a great family movie, especialy if you love dogs like we do. They used the characters from the cartoon series but put it in a different story, it was very cool to pick out all the old references for me. I would say it is a kids movie and any adult who has seen the cartoon series would enjoy the references like I did. I give it flower flower for family fun!
We don't have thumbs up in our smilee collections so I chose the smilee flowers.

No overcat but there was a cat character. Riffraff, Shoeshine, changing in the phone booth, talking in rhyme, Simon Barsinister and of couse Polly were all there. Oh yes, and the humans did say "Look! in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, it's a frog....It's Underdog!" These are the things that made me laugh, and Jim Belushi was in it, he is always entertaining.
If you have no child to bring with you to see it, then catch it on DVD later, you'll like it.

Now! Now! I myself remember using phone booths. I remember getting stuck in one, had a hard time getting out.
I don't think I'm as old as your Grandma?!

I might be exaggerating just a wee bit. Growing up, we had one phone in the house and if I wanted any kind of privacy - I'd have to walk across the street to the neighborhood park and use the rotary - dial pay phone (no booth so the sound of the airplanes flying overhead would often drown out part of the conversation Mad Rolling Eyes ).

I understand that the script writers had to include the phone booth routine as it was an essential part of the 'toon but if the movie is set in today's time then it would be a bit out of place since cell phones are the norm.....seems like a bit of a dilemma.

Ha! Did you have your bass guitar with you?? Sounds like a Spinal Tap moment. If it happens again, call me and I'll get my blow torch.
